Sultan Qaboos University Geologists Saif Al Shamsi and Mazin Al Salmani do the heavy lifting in Hole BA1B together with PhD students Claire Aupart (Oslo) and Lotta Ternieten (ETH Zurich).
Another 36 meters deeper in Hole BA1B with on-going hydrology operations at BA1A and rotary coring at BA1C. A highlight of the day was a 2.76 m harzburgite core - a new record for this hole.
