...operational support group and location
The Operational Support Group as part of the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program ICDP is based at the GFZ Section 4.2 - Geomechanics and Scientific Drilling at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potdsam, Germany.
The International Continental Scientific Drilling Program has played a primary role over the past two decades, uncovering geological secrets from beneath our continents through targeted scientific drilling. As a non-profit organization for modern Earth science research it has enabled first-class science to be pursued, numerous targets to be probed and hypotheses to be tested, with the result that fundamental discoveries about ‘System Earth’ have been made. Networking with other science programs has been strengthened ever since, and bridges with the private and government sector built.

LAT./LONG.: 52.378467881394414, 13.065705299377443
From Berlin's international airport BER there are several ways to get to Potsdam. Check the trip planner. Choose "From: S Flughafen Berlin-Schönefeld Bhf", "To: S Potsdam Hauptbahnhof". For instance, take any S-Bahn in direction Berlin City Center. When crossing the "Ringbahn" (the Circular Line), change to any S-Bahn running clockwise (S46, S41), until station Schöneberg, there change to S1 for Wannsee, change there on the same platform to S7 for Potsdam-Hauptbahnhof. Alternatively, change from Ringbahn S41/S46 to S7 in Westkreuz. Alternatively, take a fast commuter train through Berlin (RE7, switch to S7 in Ostbahnhof), or travel around Berlin (RB 22). Durations are approximately equal.
Once you arrive at the Potsdam Hauptbahnhof continue By Foot.
