A professor from China University of Geosciences left drill-site. Several days ago, he gave some lectures on computer science. Another professor would be arrived here tomorrow to continue a new computer curriculum.
It was snowing in the evening, the air temperature fall down quickly. It inconvenienced our workings and lives. However, the drillers still were working very hard.
A drilling technique meeting was held today to discuss the current situation of the project and to clarify some technique confusions. Also the meeting has planned the time schedule in the future time of this year. All drilling engineers of the project took part in meeting.
Mr. Mu Shuling, vice president of Sinopec Corporation that is the Contractor of CCSD Project, visited the drilling site today to show the honor to his employees working in the project.
The WL Drilling System, imported from MICON GmbH & Co. KG, Celle, has never performed its functions. The inner core barrel assemble is not able to pass through the drill pipes. That cost CCSD about 3 months to search the causes of this kind of problems because almost all engineers working in drilling site thought that Products from Germany would not occurred quality problem. Finally the engineers find out that there are some flanges existing in the welding area which stop the inner core barrel pass through the pipes. The red color in the photo stands for the flange.
The WL Drilling Pipes, imported from MICON GmbH & Co. KG, Celle, Germany, are bended when they are connected piece by piece. The photo was taken after only one trip.
The CCSD Leader-board meeting was held in Beijing. Madam Shou Jiahua, vice minister of Land and Resources, presided the meeting. Some officials from science and technology bureau and financing bureau of Land and Resources Ministry attended the meeting. The project principal investigator Madam Xu Zhiqin and director Mr. Wang Da presented reports on progress of researching and engineering of CCSD during the meeting.
It is a busy day for madam Cai ci, two group guests from different places visited the drill-site. It took madam Cai whole morning to introduce CCSD to them respectively.
Due to the problem existing in Micon WL-system, the wire line core drilling method has to be replaced by PDM core drilling system. The normal drill pipes of 89-millimeter diameter were transported to drill-site.
Mr. Ye Dongsong, the vice minister of Land and Resource, arrived at dirll-site and gave greetings to all the employees who were working in site during Spring Festival. In the evening, vice minister Ye had dinner with all people working at site and the local music and dance playing team presented a very beautiful performance to us.
Today is the first day of Chinese lunar New Year. Most Chinese people may stay with family. But we have to hold our duty for the project and stay away from family. What we can do is sending our greetings to our families and friends through e-mail,phone and other modern communication tools.
Today is the last day of the Chinese lunar year. In the evening, all people at drill-site held dinner together and set off firecrackers to celebrate the New Year.
We held an electrical logging today. Drilling engineers were not satisfied with the logged information. They were trying to find a good way to improve the status.
The same problem was occurred, cores fell into drilling pipes when we tested the wire-line coring drilling system with hydro-hammer. Therefore, drillers had to clean off the mud that overflowed onto drilling platform again.
