Last night the drill string broke at ~9,900' depth. This is just below the bottom of the casing, where there is a sharp increase in the inclination of the hole. A joint in the drill string broke due to the stress of being rotated for a long time at this depth. We tripped out this morning and are currently tripping back in and attempting to fish out the lower portion of the drill string and the core barrel.
