We are happy to report that our assumption was incorrect yesterday, the core barrel did not break off in the bottom of the hole. Once we tripped the last of the pipe out this morning, we saw that the core barrel was still attached. Inside was a handful of cement and broken rock. This is a promising sign, and may indicate that the recent cement injections are forcing the bit out the side of the casing that has been thinned by last week's milling. The coring conditions at the end of the day indicate that we may be slowly drilling through the last of the casing sidewall and through the side of the casing shoe. If so, we will try and continue on this new path and avoid the old hole, which deviates significantly away from vertical.
