Drilling operations proceeded smoothly today, and a set of collars arrived in case we need to switch to tricone rotary drilling in the future. The rock recovered today was almost entirely pillow lavas. There were many glassy margins on the pillows, but no changes in lithology across those margins. This observation indicates that all the pillows may have been emplaced during a single long-lived eruption. At the time of this update, we are currently drilling at a depth of 10,543'.
