Siyanda Mngadi a student at the University of the Witwatersrand (left) and Kosuke Sugimura a student at Ritsumeikan University (right) are scanning Cooke 4 mine core samples from Site 7, Hole A. These core samples are highly fractured due to severe stress fracturing around the mining stopes. Ogasawara (2014) measured 127 MPa stress levels at Cooke 4. The triple tube drilling was used to preserve these fractures. The scanned images will be compared rigorously with OTV images.
