Today, Prof. Dr. Halil Yilmaz, Glen Nwaila, Zamaswazi Nkosi and Siyanda Mngadi from Wits University have visited Moab Khotsong gold mine. The purpose of the visit was to see the ongoing work on-site of the DSeis-project and to learn more about the ICDP-core scanner. Akimasa Ishida and Kosuke Sugimura could do a demonstration of the DCDA instrument and Michael Rickenbacher has introduced the Wits-student into core scanning. Furthermore, the wireline winch was delivered to site 1 and the first borehole was flushed with water. Hence, the geophysical borehole logging can start tomorrow with the optical and acoustic televiewer.
