Today, Dr. Hiroshi Ogasawara and Dr. Kato visited the Moab Khotsong gold mine. With them, a hydrophone was brought to the site. The hydrophone is packed in a 2 meter long tube and it will record P-wave and S-wave arrivals of the seismogenic zone of the Orkney earthquake in the Moab borehole A. The plan is to lower down the hydrophone over the weekends and to analyze the seismic record afterwards to localize the exact position of the active fault zone.
