ICDP organizes annual training courses that provide comprehensive instruction on all key aspects of scientific drilling. These courses are primarily designed for Master’s students, PhD candidates, and post-doctoral researchers involved in or interested in scientific drilling. However, senior scientists preparing to participate in upcoming drilling projects or field campaigns are also encouraged to apply.

Join the Course

The ICDP Training Course offers comprehensive instruction on key aspects of scientific drilling and related research activities. Preference is given to applicants who:

• Are involved in active ICDP drilling projects
• Are affiliated with institutions in ICDP member countries
• Come from developing nations or countries considering ICDP membership

Each training course has a duration of approximately one week. Participation is free, with ICDP providing financial support to cover travel, visa costs, accommodation, and meals for successful applicants.

To apply, candidates must submit the following documents:

• A letter of interest
• A curriculum vitae (CV)
• At least two letters of support
