The pilot hole is now at a depth of
Mike Rymer and Scott Haefner (USGS) standing in front of a recently discovered exposure of the San Andreas fault which they spent the day cleaning. The fault is exposed in Nelson Creek approximately 3 km north of the drill site.
The pilot hole is now at a depth of 4200 feet and drilling is progressing well through the basement granite.
