HOTSPOT: 2010-10-07

Spent Monday 10-04-10 trying to free the drill string.
We want our core to look its best. We wash, dry, and mark the core before putting it in core boxes. A box is lying on the pallet behind Lucas

Spent Monday 10-04-10 trying to free the drill string. Monday afternoon decided to drill ahead with NQ rod to find bottom of aquifer. Monday night-Tuesday morning spent milling out HQ bit and clearing hole below stuck section. Started making NQ core mid-afternoon Tuesday. Continued to make core all night; now at 997 ft - 304 m and doing one more run before wireling logging begins. USGS crew from Idaho National Laboratory (Brian Twinings, Mary Hodges, and Linda Davis) arrived Tuesday afternoon with 2 USGS logging vans. Will log through NQ string Wednesday (gamma, neutrong, gyro) and see about open hole logging. Water samples will also begin by Roy Bartholomay of USGS. UPDATE: We made 200 ft of NQ core overnight till morning, for a total depth of 1007 ft. USGS has started wireline logging. USGS will take water samples at specific horizons.
