We decided to investigate this problem in depth because it substantially reduced the information content of the core and bound much of our work time.
For one day, we had an outside consultant look at rock type, core quality, drilling equipment, core handling, crew procedures etc. and issue very constructive recommendations. Our drilling contractor fully agreed with them and immediately implemented them.
