  3. Geostatistics

Application of multiple geostatistical methods in order to assess and mitigate data uncertainties.

Uncertainty in geology and geophysics is not only present in the algorithm that the modeller chooses to apply, it is also present in all the parameters and the data used in those algorithms. Uncertainty about correlation coefficients, variogram range, or with porosity distribution means that all may be modelling input and must be analyzed for sensitivity. When dealing with uncertainty, the most important factor is to know which parameters are behind it, so that the workflow can be optimized and steps can be taken to reduce this uncertainty.
