Fast rendering, but limited ways to customize display and layout

The listing below was realized with the file_list TYPO3 Extension.

The configuration of such a file-list is much simpler than a "gallery" or "album", implemented with the "fs_media_gallery" Extension. For comparison, see ICDP Logos as Gallery/Album.

However, the formatting options of the file_list extension are also considerably less powerful. For instance there is no way to specify a different size for the small image preview pictures/thumbnails. You can only select "preview picture? yes/no", and there is only one size.
