ICDP ECR Workshop 2026 – Next Generation!

The second edition of the ICDP ECR Workshop – Next Generation took place in Chiba, Japan, 21–23 May 2026. It offered early career researchers a unique opportunity to engage with the international scientific drilling community, broaden their professional networks, and connect with experienced ICDP mentors.

As the official entry point into the ICDP Mentorship Programme, the Next Generation Workshop plays a central role in shaping the future of scientific drilling. Participants in the workshop can be considered for the mentorship scheme, making this a pivotal step towards long-term career development and international collaboration in the field.

With new professional networks established and mentoring opportunities initiated, the 2026 Next Generation Workshop marked another successful step in supporting the future of ICDP.
