ICDP ECR Workshop Call – Next Generation (Chiba, Japan)

We are happy to announce the second edition of the ICDP ECR Workshop – Next Generation

WHEN: 21–23 May 2026
WHERE: Chiba, Japan (ahead of the Joint JpGU General Assembly)

This annual workshop brings together early career scientists from across the globe to engage with the international scientific drilling community, expand their professional networks, and connect with experienced ICDP mentors.

As the official entry point into the ICDP Mentorship Program, the Next Generation Workshop plays a key role in shaping the future of scientific drilling. Participants will have the opportunity to be considered for the mentorship program, making it a unique and valuable step toward long-term career development and collaboration within the field.

Early Career Researchers (PhD candidates and postdocs within eight years of their PhD) are invited to apply for the ICDP ECR Workshop Next Generation, to be held in Chiba, Japan, 21–23 May 2026, ahead of the Joint JpGU General Assembly.

Applications (single PDF) should include contact details, a brief CV, and a short letter of interest outlining your research background, links to ICDP where applicable, and whether you plan to attend the General Assembly and have funding for it.
