WEIHE Project Data and Sample Management Training

From 17 to 21 February, Katja and Cindy of the ICDP Operational Support Group travelled to Xi'an China to train 9 scientists in data and sample management as well as mDIS. The WEIHE project is about to start drilling in the next few months.

The Weihe Basin contains a unique well-preserved fluvial lacustrine sequence covering the entire Cenozoic. This project (Phase I) will drill a 3000-m borehole to provide a highly resolved and accurately dated terrestrial record spanning the Late Miocene to the Holocene.
