Based on the suspicions that there was junk in the ...
Mount Krafla seen from Leirhnjukur.

Based on the suspicions that there was junk in the hole it was decided to RIH with a 12 1/8" tricone steel drill bit that is specially designed for junk cleaning as well as a junkbasket. While waiting for the delivery of the drill bit from Reykjavik it was decided to use the time to assess the cement behind the anchor casing from below 1300 m depth with a CBL log. CBL logging was completed by 3:50 pm. By then the drill bit had arrived at drill site and RIH could commence. Drill bit and junk basket reached fill at 2039 m depth at 2:30 am this morning. After checking depth of fill drilling could commence. The plan is to drill to 2060 m depth and then POOH to plug the hole with cement.
